Ruaha National Park was gazetted in earl 50’s covering an area of 10300 kmsq, the main reason was to protect Miombo woodland. Miombo are very technical; they are characterized by two different species of trees (Julbernardia and Brachystegia) Miombo in-housing different type of wildlife. The park extended in terms of size to conserve and protect main water catchment site of Ruaha to insure sustainable water flow for the wildlife and serves as water catchment of the great ruaha river from drying.

– Day to Day Itinerary

DAY 1 : Iringa - Ruaha National Park

Morning after breakfast at the hotel depart for a drive to Ruaha National Park, the drive will take almost 2 hours and half or more depending on what to be found on the way. Check in and set up the camp and get ready for hot lunch, after lunch little leisure then depart for the evening game drive in the magnificent Ruaha National Park. Ruaha is rich with lots of different animals eg; antelopes, giraffes, Buffaloes, Lions, Leopard, Elephants, Cheetah and lots more to be offered.

DAY 2 : Game Drive in Ruaha

Early morning breakfast then leave for the full day game drive, lunch will be served in the picnics site in the park. After lunch proceed with game drive until evening time then drive back to the camp for dinner and overnight. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

DAY 3 : Adventure Walking in Ruaha

Early morning cup of tea and coffee then depart for walking safari which will take 3 to 4 hours. This activity is one of the most fascinating adventure trip which provides a life experience being close to the animals and learning more about small things that you can’t see during game drives. Delicious bush breakfast stop to be served immediately after the walking safari. After breakfast drive to the camp for leisure, lunch to be served at the camp. Evening game drive which will be of three hour. Dinner and overnight at Lodge

DAY 4 : Full Day Game Drive

The Early Morning and evening game drive Early morning game drive starting at 0630 until 0930 breakfast to served en route then after breakfast proceeds with game drive until lunch time. Hot lunch to be served at the camp after lunch enjoy an afternoon leisure then depart for evening game drive with magnificent sunset. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

DAY 5 : Trekking on the Kilimatonge hill

After breakfast depart for the Kimilamatonge Hill trekking which will take up to 3 hours then proceed with game drive with box lunches which will be served in the picnic sites. After lunch proceed with game drive until the evening time. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

DAY 6 - 13 : Ruaha National Park

Early morning game drives with breakfast box which will be served in the park, after breakfast proceed with game drive until lunch time where you will return back to the camp for lunch. After lunch you will enjoy the afternoon leisure before evening game drive which will be till sunset.

DAY 14 : Ruaha National park – Iringa

You will wake up in Ruaha National Park and enjoy your last sunrise game drive before turning to camp for breakfast. You will then departure for another game drive with lunch in the bush and an amazing safari experience until sunset. On this day you will focus on the things you missed the previous days. At the end of the afternoon, you will exit the park and head to Iringa where you will have dinner and your overnight stay at a lodge booked for you.
